Web sites across the world have reported strange statistical anomalies caused by a virus dubbed ´The Cookie Monster´ mimicking real people. It appears that for an infected website every real person arriving will be ´cloned´ by the virus by a reported 46.2 times. This obviously has a devastating effect on website statistics across the globe.

If latest figures are to be believed then China is going to have serious problems this week trying to find enough food for 837.3 billion people (source: Neils Pet Ratings ´ March 2005).

Web analytics experts across the world have commented that ´The Cookie Monster´ will eventually burn out like many oth
er bugs reported in the last few years.

Steve Jackson (Editor Conversion Chronicles & CEO of Aboavista) comments;

´We´ve looked closely at The Cookie Monster and what we saw was disturbing. However while we think that website statistics across the world will undoubtedly be effected by the virus it´s most likely to be a temporary glitch in figures. Our developers have developed a patch for the virus which can be downloaded for free from our website´
